Given how common chronic health problems are, it’s likely that employers will have to deal with staff member who is straggling. Chronic Health issues are the leading cause of long-term absences from work and lower performance.

Millions of Americans are dealing with chronic diseases daily. Many believe that at the time of their diagnosis, they received a “life sentence.” But the problem of chronic condition goes further than the diagnosis. It influences every aspect of the patient’s life, as well as the life of their loved ones.

Challenges include trying to follow doctor’s advice, understanding what is happening to them, struggling to keep a job, or inability to act “like nothing is wrong.” All this with the prognosis of being ill for the rest of their life? Does it have to be this way?

I want to pass this strong message on to you. I believe that it is 100% accurate.

We have tendencies to price many other things above our health. As humans, we only start paying attention to health when we start losing it. When health troubles begin, we want it back quickly, preferably with one pill. I understand the desperation. I was there (read my story here). I know how hard it is to go on with your own life when everything hurts; you have no energy; you don’t even feel like yourself anymore.

But many illnesses can be turned around or prevented with lifestyle changes. That means some work on your part – but aren’t you worth some work? Honestly, making better lifestyle choices can help you feel much better, shed those extra pounds of unwanted weight, get back the energy you used to have in your younger years. Sounds too good to be the truth?
